The Not Forgotten Cabin

Directions from Denver:

The Not Forgotten cabin is in Columbine Lake, about a 2 hour drive from Denver. Generally speaking, it's about 1-1/2 miles from the town of Grand Lake, just West of Highway 34 on County Road 49, and adjacent to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Take I-70 West past Idaho Springs and take exit 232 for Winer Park, Granby, Rocky Mtn. National Park. This is the exit for Route 40. (Cabin is 60 mi. from this exit.)

Take route 40 over Berthoud Pass (long and winding) and through the towns of Winter Park, Frazer, Tabernash and into Granby. Immediately after you pass through the town of Granby there is an exit for Route 34 going east towards Grand Lake. Take this exit (it is not far after you pass the Homestead Hotel & Westerner Motel). You know you have missed the exit if route 40 has narrowed into a 2 lane road after Granby.

Take route 34 for approximately 16 miles until you see signs for Grand Lake. Go past the exit for Grand Lake and take the 2nd major left hand turn onto County Road 49, for Columbine Lake. Go up the winding road for about a mile and turn left on Columbine Drive (County Road 494).  The house is about 1 mile up Columbine Dr. on the left side. It is the 1st house past the intersection of Columbine & Holly.
